Corker To Hold Town Hall Meeting In Scott County

Huntsville, TN (2009-08-17) U.S. Senator Bob Corker will hold a town hall meeting in Huntsville on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 to speak with citizens and community leaders about health care reform and the economic challenges facing our state and country.  The event is open to the public.  Senator Howard Baker is scheduled to attend the event and will be introducing Senator Corker.

            During the Senate’s August recess, Senator Corker is visiting 30 counties across the state to listen to his constituents’ concerns and provide an update on his work in Tennessee and Washington on their behalf.

            Senator Corker’s Scott County Town Hall Meeting will be held in the conference room of the Scott County Office Building at 2845 Baker Highway in Huntsville.  The forum will begin at 10:30 a.m.

            Bob Corker was elected to the United States Senate in November 2006 and serves on the Banking, Energy, and Foreign Relations Committees. Corker grew up in Chattanooga, TN and graduated from the University of Tennessee. He was a successful businessman before serving as Tennessee Commissioner of Finance and Administration and Mayor of Chattanooga. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have been married for twenty-two years and have two daughters, Julia and Emily
